JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated geometry processing engineer to become a member of our geometry team. You will be working on a diverse range of challenging and innovative projects that involve building a robust geometry kernel, analyzing and processing large-scale point clouds, and reconstructing surfaces with different Levels of Detail (LODs). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust algorithms and software pipelines that enable efficient geometry processing at scale, transforming raw data into actionable 3D models and structures. You will also be tightly working with our AI team. Being an early engineer at Samp allows you to shape not only the direction of the product but the engineering culture as well.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in some of the following:
- Point cloud processing (e.g. analysis, classification, filtering, simplification).
- Computational geometry algorithms and data structures (e.g. triangulations, boolean operations, octrees, graphs).
- Numerical methods and optimization (e.g. convex optimization).
- Surface reconstruction with LODs (e.g. meshing, BIM, CAD).
- Design and implementation of scalable and high-precision algorithms.
- Rendering and visualizing geometric data.
- Programming languages: C++ (high priority) and Python.
Requirements for the Role:
- Bachelor / Master / Phd in computer science / applied mathematics.
- Background in computational geometry, geometry processing, or computer graphics.
- Experience with reading and understanding related scientific literature.
- Familiarity with geometry processing libraries.
- Some relevant engineering experience.
- Strong C++ skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail / quality.
- A drive to continuously be learning new things and taking on new challenges.
- Work closely with the rest of the team members to develop, test, deploy, and operate high-quality software.
- Proficiency in English.
Nice to have:
- Experience with CAD or general 3D modeling software.
- Prior experience working for an enterprise or startup SaaS company.
